- Hmm, let me get this correct, you wish to know how many versions of the
- Commodore 64 that were made. Well the answer is a difficult one. Do you
- mean cases being different, motherboards being different, etc. Most would
- say that there are only two real versions of the Commodore 64, the regular
- old one and the newer 64c. Some would want to include the C128 in the list
- because it has c64 mode, yet others would claim that there is a 1984 and
- prior version of the board. So me being the commodore hardware nut that I
- am, would say that I can think of four versions of the C64. Listed in
- chronological order as I know them:
-
- C64 standard version
- C64 1984 Revision
- C64C New case and motherboard complete revision
- C128 with C64 operating mode.
-
- Now if you want to get into revisions of the motherboard by revision
- number and little differences that don't make much difference.. well thats
- another story.
